Is the small 4-8 mm pebbles the best fit, or would a slightly larger pebble suit your project better?

What Stone Size Should You Choose?

Pebbles 4-8 mm are small natural stones that are often used in flower beds, gardens, and cemeteries. Pebbles are not recommended for driveways as they can get stuck in car tires. The recommended layer thickness for pebbles is 3-4 cm.

Pebbles 8-16 mm are medium-sized stones, which are the most commonly used type for driveways. This size is ideal for driveways as the stones are less likely to get stuck in car tires, and they are not too large. Pebble stones 8-16 mm. are also often used in flower beds and on paths. We recommend laying a layer of cobble stones at about 5 cm thickness.

Pebbles 16-32 mm are slightly larger stones used as decorative stones in flower beds and garden areas. The advantage of royal pebbles is that their size and weight keep them in place, even if you use a leaf blower. Pebbles stones 16-32 mm. are also used as drainage material around pipes and in soakaways. We recommend laying royal pebbles in a layer of 8-10 cm.

Cobble stones 32-64 mm are often used around the foundations of commercial buildings, private homes, and summer houses. Cobbles are large decorative stones, comparable in size to a large potato. We recommend laying cobbles in a layer of about 13-15 cm thickness.

Cobble Stones 80-120 are used for paving work and for building gabions. We exclusively sell hand-sorted cobble stones that are free from limestone and flint. As a new addition in 2014, we introduced three different sizes of cobble stones in our range. All three sizes are well-suited for paving projects. Cobble stones in the 80-120 mm size range are the most commonly used stones for gabions, as the mesh in gabions is often 100 mm.

Large Stones are generally used for marking boundaries or as decorative elements in various garden projects.
