Delivery Methods for Douglas Wood Chips

To ensure your order arrives exactly where you need it, we offer three flexible delivery options tailored to your convenience. Below, you’ll find descriptions of each delivery method, including the advantages of each and situations in which they are most beneficial.

Sidewalk/Driveway Delivery

Our sidewalk/driveway delivery option is the most economical and straightforward choice. With this method, your big bag of Douglas wood chips will be placed at the edge of your property, such as on the sidewalk, by the curb, or just inside the start of your driveway. This placement allows you easy access without requiring extensive handling.

If you’re selecting sidewalk/driveway delivery, be sure to leave specific instructions with your order. Our skilled drivers will follow your guidelines to position the big bag exactly where you need it. Sidewalk/driveway delivery is ideal if you have easy access to the drop-off area or plan to use the wood chips close to the placement location. With this delivery, there’s no need to be home at the time of delivery, giving you full flexibility.

Mobile Forklift Delivery

For customers needing a more precise drop-off location, our mobile forklift delivery is an excellent option. This method is especially useful if you have a long driveway, a narrow or irregularly shaped lot, or if you need the big bag placed on specific surfaces.

Our drivers use a specially equipped truck with a mobile forklift, which is 2.5 meters wide and heavy, exerting significant pressure on the ground. It’s important to ensure that the surface is stable enough to support this weight. This method provides a smooth, efficient delivery directly to specific areas on your property, saving you time and effort when you’re ready to spread the wood chips.

Crane Delivery

For maximum placement flexibility, our crane delivery service can lift the big bag over obstacles like fences or hedges and deposit it in hard-to-reach areas of your property. With a reach of 7-8 meters from the truck, the crane can deliver your wood chips to precisely where you need them, even if it’s beyond typical ground access.

This option is perfect for situations where you want the wood chips placed in an enclosed area or at a location that is challenging to reach from the sidewalk or driveway. Some customers even choose to have the big bag’s bottom opened while suspended, allowing the wood chips to be spread directly upon delivery.

Please note that crane delivery requires ample space. For successful delivery, there must be a minimum clearance of 4.5 meters in height and 4 meters in width from the main road to the delivery location.

FSC® Certification

FSC® is an international non-profit label for responsibly sourced wood. FSC certification guarantees that no more wood is harvested than the forest can replenish. It also ensures the protection of wildlife and fair working conditions for forest workers. FSC stands for “Forest Stewardship Council®.” Maxibag.dk sources pure Douglas wood chips from trees labeled “Pure” and “Mix.” Both certifications are widely supported by organizations such as Nepenthes, Greenpeace, WWF, and social organizations like BAT. Some forests are certified by PEFC or FSC, with some certified by both. Therefore, Maxibag.dk has chosen to offer Douglas wood chips from trees certified by both schemes.

When our maxibags are delivered, the air has been compressed out to minimize space on the truck. The delivered quantity corresponds to the ordered amount in its spread-out state, although it takes up significantly less space when compacted in a big bag.
