Grey Granite Chippings 32-50 mm

This type of granite chipping, also known as DSB chippings or railway chippings, is a beautiful, large stone ideal for garden beds or slopes where you need a stone that won’t easily roll away. Grey granite chippings allow the natural colors to shine through, featuring the unique color variations from the Swedish rocks, creating a distinctive and attractive look. You can see hints of white and pale pink that together give it the popular appearance. When dry, the chippings even sparkle slightly, resembling tiny crystals. This effect is why they are sometimes called "silver stones."

How Thick Should the Layer of 32-50 mm Grey Granite Chippings Be?

We recommend laying 32-50 mm grey granite chippings in a layer of at least 10 cm. This ensures the ground is properly covered, which is essential to prevent the underlying surface from showing through.

For best results, lay 3-5 cm of grey stone dust underneath the chippings and compact it before spreading the chippings. This creates a smooth base and acts as a great barrier against weeds. By doing this, you may also be able to reduce the thickness of the granite chippings layer by a few centimeters.

Preventing Weeds in Granite Chippings

To prevent weeds, you can use stone dust as well as a weed barrier, or even better, a combination of both. We always recommend laying a weed barrier under the chippings. It’s a small investment that can save you many hours of maintenance. Delivery of DSB Chippings

Since DSB chippings are heavy, it’s important to have them delivered as close as possible to where they will be used. We have some of the most experienced drivers in the country who deliver our Maxibags daily, providing excellent service to thousands of customers. We aim to offer the best customer experience by providing flexible delivery options, both in terms of equipment and delivery speed.

We Offer Three Delivery Methods:

Standard Delivery

Our standard option, called "curbside/driveway," is ideal if you want your Maxibag placed by the road, along the curb, on the pavement, or just inside your driveway. This is a free delivery method. To ensure accurate placement, we recommend specifying where you want the product placed in your order so the driver can follow your instructions.

Delivery with Mobile Forklift

If you need your Maxibag positioned using a mobile forklift with rubber wheels, this is a great choice. The driver arrives with a truck equipped with a special forklift attached to the back. The forklift can be detached and used to move the product to your desired location. It can navigate solid surfaces like stone, gravel, dry grass, asphalt, and dirt roads, and is often used in garden allotments where larger vehicles may have difficulty accessing.

Our forklifts are approximately 2.5 meters wide and 2.8 meters high. We prefer to avoid driving on delicate paved surfaces, as the heavy weight can cause damage, as well as on grass and other sensitive surfaces.

Crane Delivery

This method is ideal if you need your Maxibag of granite chippings lifted over a fence or hedge. If the product needs to be lifted over an obstacle and into your garden or another area, crane delivery is the best choice. Our driver will arrive with a truck equipped with a crane and place the product exactly where you need it.

Please note that crane trucks require ample space. There must be a clearance of 4.5 meters in height and 4 meters in width from the main road to the delivery address. The crane can extend up to 7-8 meters away from the truck.
