Dark grey granite chippings in 16-22 mm size are highly versatile. They are often used for landscaping and garden beds where a slightly larger size is desired. They can also be used in driveways, although the 11-16 mm size is the most commonly used for that purpose.

These chippings have a very uniform color, making them highly popular. Therefore, they are seen in many places across Denmark and are a bestseller for us.

When the dark grey granite chippings are delivered, they are covered in dust from the crushing process, and it will take some time for the rain to wash all the dust away.

Preventing Weeds in Granite Chippings

No one likes weeds or the effort it takes to remove them. Fortunately, there are some methods to avoid this issue—or at least reduce it to a minimum. If the chippings are placed in high-traffic areas, weeds won’t naturally be a problem as the chippings will "cut" the weeds. However, if they are in a flower bed or on the edges of a driveway, weeds may appear unless you use one of the following methods.

Stone Dust Under Granite Chippings

One method to prevent weeds is to lay a layer of stone dust (gray or black) under the dark grey granite chippings. A 3-5 cm layer that is compacted/rolled will keep most weeds away while also providing a beautiful, uniform base beneath the chippings.

Weed Barrier/Fabric

A good weed barrier, preferably a geotextile fabric, is a very inexpensive and highly effective method to prevent weeds. The fabric is placed directly under the chippings and will block most weeds. You can purchase high-quality geotextile fabric here on the site along with your chippings.
A combination of weed barrier and stone dust is the absolute best solution.

Standard Delivery

Our standard delivery, also known as "sidewalk/driveway," is perfect if you want your maxibag placed at the curb, on the sidewalk, or just inside your driveway. This option is free of charge. It’s a good idea to specify where you want the delivery placed when ordering so the driver can follow your instructions.

Forklift Delivery

This delivery method is ideal if you want your maxibag moved using a forklift. Our driver will arrive with a truck that has a special forklift mounted on the back. The forklift can easily be unloaded and used to transport your maxibag from the truck to the desired location. The forklift can drive on solid surfaces such as stone, gravel, asphalt, and dirt roads, and it is suitable for deliveries in allotments or areas with limited access for larger trucks.

Crane Delivery

If you need your maxibag lifted over obstacles such as a fence or hedge, crane delivery is the best option. The driver will arrive with a truck equipped with a crane and place your granite chippings exactly where you want them.
