Clay Road Gravel for Gravel Roads

After a wet and cold winter, it’s natural for potholes to appear on roads and pathways. This can also happen after heavy traffic, making paths uncomfortable to use. This is often due to puddles that form when depressions develop. Our clay-rich Clay Road Gravel, sized 0-8 mm, is a great product for this purpose. The Clay Road Gravel 0-8 mm contains small stones that ensure good drainage, and as the name suggests, it also contains a lot of clay, which binds it particularly well.

This type of Clay Road Gravel is especially suited for paths without heavy traffic. If you need to restore a gravel road primarily used by cars and other heavy traffic, we recommend a road gravel with larger stones, such as our Road Gravel 0-16 mm.

Building a Pathway with Clay Road Gravel

This clay-rich Clay Road Gravel can also be used for creating a walkway. Since there is rarely heavy traffic on a pathway, you can generally just use the road gravel alone. Lay a layer of at least 5-7 cm, compact it well, and the clay will help hold the structure in place. The small stones ensure good drainage, allowing water to flow away. However, some potholes may still form after a wet and cold season. These holes can easily be refilled. If space allows, it’s often a good idea to order a bit extra so you can later repair any holes or depressions.

Standard Delivery

Our bigbags are delivered to the sidewalk/driveway as standard, which is included in the price. This means the maxibags are unloaded near the truck, delivered by the first available type of truck that can reach your address. If you live in an area without a sidewalk or driveway, you can still select this delivery method. Your bigbag will be placed as close to where the truck can park and turn around.

Forklift Delivery

This delivery method is perfect if you want your bigbag placed where the truck cannot get close. It’s ideal for properties on narrow lots, summer house areas, or garden associations. Our forklifts can drive on gravel roads and asphalt but require at least 2.5 meters in width to access. These forklifts are heavy, so driving on grass or tiles may cause damage. Neither the delivery company nor Maxibag can be held responsible for such damage.

Crane Delivery

Choose crane delivery if you need your bigbag delivered over a hedge or fence. This way, you can often avoid many wheelbarrow trips and have the product lifted right to where it’s needed.

Please note that large crane trucks require ample space. From the main road to the final address, a clear height of 4.5 meters and width of 4 meters is needed. The crane truck can extend a maxibag 7-8 meters away from the truck.
