Royal Gravel - A Uniquely Composed Gravel

At Maxibag, we are proud to offer this truly unique gravel, primarily used for pathways and walkways. Royal Gravel is a special blend of small stones, rock dust, and a significant amount of clay. This combination, with the right materials in the correct proportions, makes the product extremely firm once laid, making it a popular choice for parks, cemeteries, and municipal areas with high foot traffic. The gravel has a brownish appearance (as shown in the photo) and turns gray when completely dry.

Gravel with Excellent Drainage

Although this gravel type becomes very firm, the numerous small stones within ensure good drainage. This means you won’t end up with muddy shoes when walking on the gravel after rain. Water quickly penetrates the gravel, keeping it neat. Should there be such heavy rainfall that the Royal Gravel (or the layer below) can no longer absorb water, causing the gravel to become uneven, it can simply be smoothed out again. The gravel will then settle and regain its hard surface.

How Thick a Layer of Gravel Should Be Laid?

We recommend a minimum depth of 6-7 cm when laying gravel. After it has been compacted, the thickness will reduce by 1-2 cm. This results in a layer that is not too thin and allows for leveling, if needed.

We typically say that 1 m³ of Royal Gravel covers approximately 15 m².

Royal Gravel 0-8 mm is the perfect gravel solution for creating paths, wheelchair-accessible gravel trails, town squares, plazas, and park paths. Due to its ideal composition, with over 60% crushed stones of 2-8 mm combined with extra clay-rich gravel, it creates a unique type of gravel. Out of over 20 different gravel products, this type has been approved with the ideal characteristics for parks and landscaping.

With a high content of 2-8 mm crushed stones, it provides a surface with the right texture and color, widely used by landscape architects for pathways.

You can always be assured of a consistent product, even if you lay it years apart. This gravel type has strict quality and production standards, ensuring that each delivery is exactly the same composition.

Royal Gravel significantly reduces tracking. This is a great advantage as it prevents gravel from being carried into homes and buildings on shoes, unlike other types of gravel that often cause issues. This gravel contains no lime, which also minimizes tracking.

Laying this gravel is an affordable, easy, and highly effective way to create a hard, natural surface for your paths or installations. It is simple to lay and work with.

Paths in Cemeteries, Church Areas, and Royal Gravel

This type of gravel is often used in cemeteries as it becomes very firm, is wheelchair-friendly, and pleasant to walk on. It has excellent surface water drainage properties and provides an attractive, natural surface. We deliver this gravel in maxibags to churches nationwide and offer various delivery options to assist groundskeepers and staff at cemeteries.

Establishing Parks, Royal Gravel, and Paths for Public and Municipal Areas

This unique gravel type is commonly used in public and municipal areas across the country. With ideal features, the gravel creates a hard surface, ideal for wheelchair users, providing comfort for both pedestrians and runners, and offers good drainage properties. The gravel has a beautiful natural color, which enhances the look of paths in royal and park landscapes. We deliver Royal Gravel in bigbags/maxibags across the country and are always happy to assist with distribution within parks to make the work as easy as possible.

Delivery of Royal Gravel

All our products are delivered in bigbags – they are easy to handle, and cleanup is minimal. Bigbags, however, are heavy and challenging to move without machinery. At Maxibag.dk, you can choose from several delivery options to minimize lifting.

Select your preferred delivery method by entering your postal code on this page. This will provide multiple options. In many areas, express delivery is also available, ensuring you receive your order just a few days after purchase.

Sidewalk/Driveway Delivery

This is the standard, free delivery option, where we place your bigbag on the sidewalk or at the entrance of your driveway. We always ensure that the item is placed out of the way of vehicles.

Forklift Delivery

With this option, you can have your order brought to places where a large truck cannot reach. Forklift delivery is particularly popular in summerhouse areas, garden associations, or smaller properties. Our forklifts drive easily on standard gravel surfaces but are not recommended over tiles as they are very heavy and may cause pressure damage. For this reason, we do not drive over grass or other sensitive areas.

Our forklifts are approximately 2.5 meters wide and 2.8 meters tall.

Crane Delivery

Finally, there is the option of crane delivery, which is ideal if your bigbag needs to be lifted over a hedge or fence. This saves a lot of time, as the crane can often place the bigbag directly where it’s needed.

Please note that large crane trucks require ample space. From the main road to the final address, a clear height of 4.5 meters and a width of 4 meters is necessary. The crane truck can extend a maxibag 7-8 meters away from the vehicle.
