Difference Between Screened Topsoil and Regular Topsoil

To screen soil means to sift it through a sieve and separate stones from the soil itself. This results in screened topsoil. The mesh sizes of the sieve can vary, which is why some specify screened topsoil as 0-20 mm or 0-10 mm. With a 0-20 mm product, there can be stones up to 20 mm (measured on the smallest side of the stones). It is important to have a content of smaller stones in soil, as the stones provide a drainage foundation. If the soil cannot drain water through these smaller stones, it will turn into mud and ruin the area (e.g., a lawn).

Unscreened topsoil is soil that may contain both smaller and larger stones. This is essentially like taking a shovel and digging into a field where there may be stones, roots, etc.

Soils can vary in structure. For example, there are sandy soils and clay soils, and there can be significant differences in the structure of the soil from one area to another.

Mobile Truck Delivery

A mobile forklift is really good if you need to move the goods down a gravel road, into a garden plot, into granite chips, gravel, onto grass, or other areas with solid ground. Our driver brings the mobile forklift with them, removes it from the truck, and drives the goods to where you want them. It is a highly effective delivery method that has been very successful and well-received by our customers.

Crane Delivery

If you need to get the goods over a hedge or over a fence, this delivery method is fantastic. Our skilled crane driver comes with a truck equipped with a crane and places the goods exactly where you want them.
